APAC has a new constitution that paves the way for the not-for-profit organisation to potentially expand its field of operations.
The company AGM was held on 27 November and the three shareholders, known as Members, agreed unanimously to adopt the new framework.
Ownership will now transfer from representatives of the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA), the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and Heads of Departments and Schools of Psychology Association (HODSPA) to the Board of Directors.
There are currently five Directors with four more to be recruited in 2024.
APAC Chair, Adjunct Professor John Dunn, thanked the three founder organisations for their input into the company over the years.
“The system has served APAC well but now, with the possibility of the company expanding into new fields of operation, it was agreed that a new constitution would be the way to go.
“The Board will be reduced from 12 to nine Directors, who will be selected against a skills matrix to ensure the right mix of knowledge and experience.
“This is an important step for APAC and I thank everyone—Members, Directors and staff—for their tremendous contributions.”
