The Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) is inviting expressions of interest from experienced professionals to join its pool of accreditation assessors, who play an important role in maintaining the quality and integrity of psychology education and training in Australia.
About the role
APAC Assessors contribute to the quality and integrity of psychology programs leading to eligibility to apply for registration or endorsement with the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA).
Working as part of an assessment team, assessors evaluate psychology programs against APAC’s Accreditation Standards for Psychology Programs (Accreditation Standards), contributing to proportionate, evidence-based accreditation recommendations that support safe, effective and contemporary professional practice.
Assessors are typically involved in:
- Reviewing accreditation submissions and supporting evidence
- Participating in assessment team meetings, site visits and interviews with education providers and stakeholders
- Assessing programs against the Accreditation Standards
- Contributing to assessment findings, reports and recommendations
- Reviewing provider responses and additional evidence
- Participating in assessor training, reflection and quality improvement activities.
Assessors are required to undertake regular training and maintain current knowledge of the psychology education and training sector. They must also comply with confidentiality, conflict of interest and code of conduct requirements.
